In March of 2023, Augustinus Bader had two major milestones on the horizon — the five-year anniversary of their award-winning, science-backed skincare and the launch of their new spa at Soho’s luxury retail mecca, The Webster. To help celebrate these landmark moments, AB called on FTP to create a holistic experience aimed to capture the brand’s commitment to combining science and beauty. The NYC mobile pop-up was such a success that just two months later, we were asked to expand the activation, taking its already viral reach even further.
Augustinus Bader’s scientific approach to skincare isn’t just surface-deep. Offering cutting-edge skincare products alongside dietary supplements, they help people achieve a glow that begins from within. We knew our activation needed to celebrate both facets of beauty — the Bader Blue SKIN Smoothie was born. Our mobile pop-up served a delicious, signature blue beverage packed with nutrient-dense superfoods and of course, AB’s The Skin supplement.
Blue beverages were just the beginning of this dual celebration. We custom-wrapped the truck in the unmistakably “Bader Blue” hue — a fabrication as rich and lux as the brand’s award-winning skincare. Over the course of three days, smoothies were served up alongside deluxe sample kits complete with The Essence, The Eye Cream, The Cream, and The Rich Cream. The first 20 guests were surprised with full-sized products, and everyone was given the opportunity to win a free facial at the newly opened AB spa.
After the NYC activation wrapped, Augustinus Bader was eager to host two more events with us in May of 2023 — this time in Los Angeles and New Jersey, and this time with an added guest experience at Sephora. We brought Bader Blue trucks to The Americana at Brand and The Mall at Short Hills, where people were excited to get their hands on the blue smoothies they’d seen taking TikTok by storm. After receiving a beauty-boosting beverage, people could head into Sephora for deluxe samples and complementary skincare consultations.
In the first phase of the activation, we flew through 1,500 samples in just three days. By partnering with social media icons such as @Namvo and @Lord Gavin and creating two viral event reels, the event garnered 4M impressions for the #AugustinusBader brand. The second phase had even more impressive results with the help of our iconic blue truck, the brand doubled its Sephora sales goals at both malls over the course of the second weekend.
