South Congress
The one walkable retail stretch and the default answer for a mobile storefront or showroom. Boutiques, foot traffic, and open lots.

Austin’s calendar does much of the work for you. SXSW in March is one of the highest-impact activation windows anywhere in the country, Austin City Limits takes Zilker Park across two October weekends, Formula 1 brings an international audience in the fall, and UT home games fill the city on Saturdays. The events are the real draw, and the locations worth having get claimed months out.
Food Truck Promotions is an experiential marketing agency running mobile pop-up brand activations in Austin. We brought Peach Slices here for a mobile pop-up, and we activate in the market with full permitting and logistics support through our Texas network.
The city concentrates into a handful of places worth knowing. South Congress is the walkable retail stretch, Rainey Street puts people outdoors in a social mood, East Austin draws the youngest crowd, The Domain pulls a more suburban customer north of the city, and the blocks around the University of Texas deliver volume through term. Heat sets the terms from June through September, so we build for shade and airflow. We own the fleet, handle the permits, and staff the day.

Wall-to-wall brand activity during SXSW, and the office crowd the rest of the year.
Bar patios that put people outdoors and in a social mood. Strong evenings and weekends.
The youngest crowd and the independents, with open lots that take any format.
Volume at night. The right stop for a late activation, the wrong one for a demo.
Campus-edge volume through term and a city that fills on home-game Saturdays.
A more suburban customer with money to spend, north of the city, under cover of a retail district.

Austin’s native format. Wide roads and open lots on South Congress and in East Austin take a full-size truck.

Shade, a room, and cold product. The June through September answer, and a showroom for a tech audience.

A rolling storefront on South Congress or a demo space at SXSW, with the product visible from the sidewalk.

Convention center entrances and festival gates during SXSW and ACL, where nothing larger can enter.
Austin gives us room that older cities do not. Heat, not geography, decides the build. See the full fleet on the experiential vehicles page.
We build your brand into Austin’s event calendar, and this city has more of it than almost anywhere its size. SXSW in March is the highest-impact activation window in the country, drawing music, film, and technology crowds who are social, engaged, and looking for something to post. Austin City Limits takes Zilker Park across two October weekends, Formula 1 brings an international audience in the autumn, and UT football fills the city on home Saturdays. We activate here with full permitting and logistics support through our Texas network.
We match the vehicle to the market, and Austin gives us room that older cities do not. Roads are wide, parking is workable, and South Congress and East Austin both have open lots, so any format fits from a cart to a full food truck. Heat is the real constraint. From June through September we build for shade and airflow and lean toward cold product, because an activation with no shade in an Austin July will not hold a queue.
We produce the unexpected activation and place it where Austin’s foot traffic actually concentrates, which is a shorter list than the city’s reputation suggests. South Congress is the one genuinely walkable retail stretch, Rainey Street’s bar patios put people outdoors and in a social mood, Sixth Street delivers volume at night, and during SXSW the downtown grid becomes wall-to-wall brand activity. That last point matters: in March you are competing with hundreds of other activations, so placement and idea both have to be sharper.
We plan and produce multi-city tours, and Austin is a natural anchor for a southern route. It pairs cleanly with Dallas and Houston on drive time, which keeps transport days low, and it is often the stop where a national tour picks up its most social-active audience. We brought Peach Slices here for a mobile pop-up, and the city works equally well as a single stop or as the reason a route heads south in the first place.
We turn a vehicle into your storefront, and Austin’s retail sits in a few clear pockets. South Congress is the flagship stretch, full of boutiques and the foot traffic to support a mobile storefront. The Domain up north pulls a different, more suburban customer with money to spend, East Austin draws the youngest, and the campus edge around UT delivers volume during term.
We build mobile showrooms, and Austin’s technology audience makes it one of the better markets for a demo-led format. Considered purchases need time and hands on the product, which suits a build people step into rather than walk past. SXSW is the obvious window, since the audience arrives specifically to see what is new, but the year-round technology and startup community here supports the format outside March too.
We activate in Austin with full permitting and logistics support through our Texas network. Public streets and parks run through the city’s process, festival grounds run through the organizer, and private property on South Congress, in East Austin, or at The Domain runs on an owner agreement. We decide which route fits the location before the creative is finished.
March is its own permit season. During SXSW the downtown grid turns wall-to-wall with brand activity for a week, so placement, consent, and the idea itself all have to be sharper, and the slots worth having are claimed months out. ACL in October and Formula 1 in the fall follow the same pattern on a smaller scale.
Lead time in Austin runs six to eight weeks for a single activation with a wrap on an existing vehicle, longer for a custom interior or a route that pairs Austin with Dallas and Houston. SXSW should be briefed by December. From June through September the build carries shade, airflow, and cold product, because an activation with no shade in an Austin July will not hold a queue.

Permits are the long pole. Count back from your launch date and see if it still works.
Six to eight weeks for a single activation with a wrap on an existing vehicle, more for a custom interior or a southern route. SXSW in March is the exception: slots and locations are claimed months out, so a SXSW activation should be briefed by December. ACL in October books out by summer.
Yes. We activate in Austin with full permitting and logistics support through our Texas network, pulling city permits for streets and parks, working with organizers on festival grounds, and arranging owner agreements for private property on South Congress, in East Austin, or at The Domain.
South Congress for a mobile storefront on the one walkable retail stretch, downtown during SXSW, Rainey Street for an outdoor social crowd, East Austin for the youngest customers, the University of Texas edge during term, and The Domain for a suburban customer with money to spend.

It is also the most competitive, with hundreds of other activations on the downtown grid, so placement and idea both have to be sharper.
From June through September we build for shade and airflow and lean toward cold product, because an activation with no cover in an Austin July will not hold a queue. Airstreams and trucks with awnings do most of the summer work. From October through May the weather is an asset.
Our campaigns start at $50,000. The vehicle format, whether the build is a wrap or a custom interior, the number of days and locations, and staffing move the figure from there. A single South Congress activation on an existing vehicle sits at the lower end, a SXSW week custom build at the upper end.
